Using An Eczema Lotion With Your Eczema Treatment

In severe cases of Eczema Rash, eczema treatments alone may not be enough to get rid of the itching. Whether the treatment you are taking is an oral eczema medication or some form of topical application such as an eczema ointment or a cream, it might not be able to provide that much relief from itching. In situations such as these, it is best to use an eczema lotion together with any eczema treatment you are using. This way, you will be able to decrease the severity of the rashes as well as be relieved from the itching that they cause.

Sadly, eczema treatments are only effective against skin inflammation caused by eczema. Regardless of the form – whether they are applied on the skin or taken by mouth – they only contain ingredients which stop skin inflammation from going on. As a result, eczema treatments effectively halt an eczema rash from spreading further. Eczema treatments can also reduce the severity of existing rashes. But apart from these two uses of eczema treatments, there is nothing that they can do to alleviate the itchiness of eczema rashes.

An eczema lotion can’t be classified as an eczema treatment since it does not contain any eczema medication. Even so, it is made up of ingredients that either indirectly or directly reduce the itching sensation that eczema brings. And because existing eczema treatments are not capable of doing so, an eczema lotion can be used while taking them so that you will not merely experience a decrease in rashes but itching to.

Blueberry leaves, Green Tea, and Aloe Vera extract are among the common ingredients of an eczema lotion. These natural ingredients are particularly known for their skin soothing properties. But eczema lotions may also contain ingredients produced in laboratories. Zinc oxide is a useful example of these ingredients and it has long been used to relieve rashes of all kinds. Chemical ingredients such these may or may not be added together with natural ingredients to make an eczema lotion. Vitamin E is also another common ingredient incorporated in eczema lotions because it is a vitamin that helps restore skin health. It is an ingredient that may indirectly help in alleviating the itching of your skin.

When using a topical eczema treatment such as an eczema ointment or a cream, continue to do so as prescribed by the doctor or as instructed by the manufacturer. Wait for at least an hour before you subsequently apply eczema lotion on your rashes. Eczema creams and ointments usually take 10 to 15 minutes before they are absorbed by the skin. By waiting for at least one hour before applying a lotion, you can be confident that the eczema medication from the ointment or the cream were already fully absorbed. But, if you are using eczema medication in tablet form, capsules, or any other oral administered preparation, you can make use of the lotion at any time because it can’t affect your body’s digestion of the eczema treatment.

Ideally, you should be relieved from the itchiness of your rashes within a few minutes to an hour after applying an eczema lotion. If there hasn’t been a decrease in the level of discomfort that you endure, then the eczema lotion that you utilized could be ineffective and you will need to try a different one. Some eczema lotions can also cause your rashes to worsen. In that case, take note of that eczema lotion’s ingredients and try using other eczema lotions that only have little ingredients so that you can easily distinguish which aren’t good for your skin. As a general rule, it is best to use a lotion that is hypoallergenic and doesn’t have any fragrances and color.

Black Walnut Leaf C/S (Juglans nigra) 1 lb: C

$17.17

This is Starwest’s nitrogen-flushed double wall silverfoil pack. The leaf is used as a strong decoction for compresses, rinses, lotions and as a bath soak. The 1997 Commission E on Phytotherapy and Herbal Substances of the German Federal Institute for Drugs recommends Walnut leaf for external use for ‘Mild, superficial inflammations of the skin; excessive perspiration, e.g., of the hands and feet.’ ‘Dosage: For compresses and partial baths: 2 – 3 g herb per 100 ml water; equivalent preparations. Mode of Administration: Comminuted drug for decoctions and other galenical preparations for external use. Action: Astringent.’ Juglans nigra is native to North America and was used by Native Americans for food, wood and medicine. Black walnut, Juglans nigra, is so close a relative to the European or English walnut, Juglans regia, that the herbalists often talk about, and use, them synonymously. Juglans regia, although native to Europe, is perfectly at home in North America, as Juglans nigra is in Europe. Most of California’s vast walnut crop is the European Juglans regia. Both have high concentrations of virtually identical tannins and other healing compounds in their leaves. Tannins protect skin and control itching and inflammation by constricting and tightening tissues. Walnut leaf is a popular ingredient in many popular topical formulations for mild eczema. The leaf is used as a strong decoction for compresses, rinses, lotions and as a bath soak. Walnut leaves have also been scientifically shown to have anti-bacterial, anti-parasitic, and insect-repelling properties, thus further confirming the empirical herbal traditions. Grieve’s classic ‘A Modern Herbal’: ‘The bark and leaves have alterative, laxative, astringent and detergent properties, and are used in the treatment of skin troubles.’ ‘They are of the highest value for curing scrofulous diseases, herpes, eczema, etc., and for healing indolent ulcers; an infusion of 1 oz. of dried bark or leaves (slightly more of the fresh leaves) to the pint of boiling water, allowed to stand for six hours, and strained off is taken in wineglassful doses, three times a day, the same infusion being also employed at the same time for outward application. Obstinate ulcers may also be cured with sugar, well saturated with a strong decoction of Walnut leaves.’ ‘The bark, dried and powdered, and made into a strong infusion, is a useful purgative.’ ‘Parts Used Medicinally: The leaves and bark. The leaves are stripped off the tree singly, in June and July and dried.’ ‘Preparations: Fluid extract leaves, 1 to 2 drachms. Walnut oil.’ ‘The Walnut has been termed ‘vegetable arsenic,’ on account of its curative effect in eczema and other skin diseases.’

Eczema is a general term for many types of skin inflammation (or rash) also know as dermatitis. The most common form of eczema is atopic dermatitis (some people use these two terms interchangeably). Eczema most commonly causes a dry, reddened skin rash that itches or burns, although the appearance of eczema varies according to the specific type of eczema. Intense itching is generally the first symptom in most persons with eczema. Sometimes, eczema may lead to blisters and oozing lesions, but eczema can also result in scaly or dry skin. Cucumber Fruit (Cucumis sativus) Powdered Extract 4:1, 10 kg (22 lbs): RF

$1065.96

Nourishing and cooling Cucumber is rich in minerals and helps to stimulate the kidneys to flush out both waste and fatty deposits from the body. For smoother skin, try Cucumber. It helps to hydrate the skin, smooth wrinkles, clear blemishes and promote a radiant, youthful glow! Cucumber is an ancient plant that is native to India, where seeds almost twelve thousand years old have been discovered, and evidence indicates that it has been cultivated in western Asia for at least three thousand years. In seventeenth-century England, the esteemed herbalist, Nicholas Culpeper, wrote of the medical benefits in The English Physitian Enlarged of 1653, when he commented, ”there is not a better remedy for ulcers in the bladder” and ”the face being washed with their juice, cleanses the skin.” Cucumber was introduced into the New World by the Spaniards, and by the mid-sixteenth century, it was widely cultivated by both Native Americans and settlers alike. Cucumber is an important food crop and is also highly valued in the cosmetic industry as an ingredient in cleansing and toning lotions for the face, sunscreens, skin softeners and skin lighteners. It is a cooling herb, and both seeds and fruits are an important factor in herbal medicine. Cucumber is rich in silicon, fluoride and potassium, a very good source of vitamin C, vitamin K and also provides some dietary fiber, plus amino acids, Omega 3- and Omega 6- fatty acids, caffeic acid, linoleic and linolenic acids, vitamin A, vitamin B6, thiamin, folate, pantothenic acid, iron, 14a-methyl D-phytosterol, shikimate dehydrogenase, molybdenum, tryptophan, copper, manganese, magnesium, calcium and phosphorous. Cucumber Fruit is a fine diuretic that promotes the flow of urine and stimulates the kidneys to flush out both wastes and fatty deposits from the body. It is wonderful for eliminating excess fluid accumulations in body tissues, especially in chronic cases of gout and edema. When toxins are flushed from the kidneys, the results often bring healthier skin, and Cucumber is well known to for its abilities to clear the skin of blemishes, heat rashes and to relieve eczema. Cucumber contains a high silica content, which helps to soften the skin, moisten dry skin and smooth wrinkles for a younger and brighter-looking complexion. Because silica is an essential component of healthy connective tissue, which includes intracellular cement, muscles, tendons, ligaments, cartilage and bone, its presence in Cucumber helps to improve overall skin health. Moreover, Cucumber’s high water content also helps to hydrate the skin, which is essential for smooth skin and a healthy glow. Shikimate dehydrogenase is a substance found in Cucumber that helps to keep facial skin soft, has a healing and soothing effect on damaged skin, and exerts a natural sunscreen. It also acts as a toner and lightens facial skin. The silica content in Cucumber is also excellent for healthy hair and nails. Cucu
